This online seminar provides an educational opportunity for community members to learn about overdose prevention, lessen the stigma surrounding the use of substances, specifically with opioid use disorder (OUD), and how to use Naloxone/Narcan, the lifesaving opioid overdose reversal drug. In this webinar, you will learn to identify signs of an opioid overdose and will go through the steps of responding to an opioid overdose, including how to use Naloxone. Among those key parts of the presentation, you will also learn about the Good Samaritan Law, risks associated with using and mixing substances, fentanyl, and resources about how to access Naloxone, sterile supplies and much more.

Michaella Jones is the Overdose Prevention Education & Naloxone Distribution Coordinator at HEPPAC. As the OPEND Coordinator, Michaella is working towards creating more county-wide cohesion of substance use services, as well as trying to incorporate more teen-focused prevention and education programs. Michaella has worked in public health for over five years, having spent much of her time working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance use.
