Honing Your Communication Skills

Tuesday, June 16, 2020, 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM

Location: ACCMA Offices
6230 Claremont Avenue, 3rd floor
Oakland, CA 94618

We work in complex systems with large, diverse and interdependent groups of people, and we communicate in a wide range of contexts, from emails to large groups. This requires an equally wide range of excellent communication skills. This session will offer practical opportunities to develop the necessary skills through coached role-playing. Contexts to be considered include email, phone, conference calls and video conferencing, one-on-one, meetings, presentations to larger groups, and longer written communication. Participants who complete this module will be able to describe the principles of effective communication in these contexts and demonstrate improved skills in communication.
